A one minute homemade Gluten-Free Bisquick Mixblend that is a perfect option for those pancake, biscuit, waffle, and dumpling recipes that some of us need to be made without artificial ingredients or gluten-free.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups GF white rice flour
  • 1 ¼ cup GF coconut flour
  • 1 cup dry milk powder
  • ¼- ½ cup granulated sugar, depending on how sweet ya want it
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container.

Notes

I like my Bisquick Mix more on the sweet side. If you like it less sweet, go more toward the ¼ cup sugar side, and maybe less of the coconut flour and more of the rice flour.

I make a sausage muffin recipe using bisquick, mild pork sausage, shredded cheese, milk, powdered mustard, a little brown sugar. My grandson cannot have gluten or dairy so I used gluten free Bisquick, plant based cheese and oat milk. They were ok but not the same…I would like to use your Bisquick idea…using something else for the powdered milk
Any suggestions for a better tasting muffin???

Wow I made your gluten free buttermilk biscuits today and they are absolutely heavenly!! I made a few changes to your bisquick recipe due to some additonal food sensitivites I have and just thought I would post the changes for anyone out there that has a corn sensitivity/allergy and or dairy allergy/sensitivity. I substituted dry coconut milk powder in lieu of the milk powder. I also substituted 1/4 cup tapioca starch and 1/4 cup arrowroot starch in lieu of the 1/2 cup cornstarch. I also used superfine white rice flour although I doubt that was necessary but I find with most gluten free recipes the regular white rice flour can leave a gritty texture to baked goods. OMG they came out beautifully. Moist, light and fluffy with a very mild coconut flavor, sooooooooooooo delish! Thank you for creating and sharing this wonderful recipe. It is recipes like this that make living without gluten so much easier. This will definitely be a staple in my house from here on in.

I made this recipe as well! I did have to substitute about 1/4 of arrowroot powder for the cornstarch(ran out), fine white rice flour, and I used powdered goat milk due to A1 protein issues. It worked amazing well to make your biscuits! In that recipe I didn’t have buttermilk, but used A2 milk with white vinegar and I can attest they were amazing and fluffy and soooo good! We used to make Your recipe using gf bisquick and we are converted! Yours taste better. Not only is your recipe cheaper, but results in a better textured and tasty gf I was a little worried because of the coconut flour smell in the mix but they didn’t taste like coconut at all. Thanks so much!!!!

What is the conversion rate when making pancakes with this vs the boxed GF Bisquick? I know that coconut flour usually requires more eggs/liquid than other GF flours. Thank you!

Was wondering what else to add for waffles or pancakes. Would you follow the same directions as on a Bisquick box? Milk, eggs, oil? Thank you for this recipe. We are new to gluten free and with our large family we had to use 2 small boxes of gluten free Bisquick mix just to make waffles one time. This is very costly. Looking forward to trying this 🙂

    Hi
Can the milk powder be replaced and still work well? If so what alternative can you suggest for lactose intolerance? Would powdered coconut milk work the same?
    Thanks so much!!

I am not sure if the milk powder can be replaced for this recipe to work out well. I have not tried it with the coconut milk powder but there is only one way to find out if it will work with this recipe. Please let me know if you try this recipe out using the coconut milk powder, I'd love to know!

Your recipe says to use 1/4-1/2 c sugar, but notes say for less sweet, go more toward 1/2 cup sugar side. Is that a typo? Shouldn't it be 1/4 cup to be less sweet?

    Reply

    • One Minute Gluten Free Bisquick Mix (26)Jess says

Yes! Thank you for seeing my mistake! It should read "1/4 cup to be less sweet". I will change that in the recipe! Thank you for catching that error! Much appreciated! 🙂

You sure can try the other starches out if interested, but I know that the cornstarch definitely does work well for this recipe 🙂

    Reply

    • One Minute Gluten Free Bisquick Mix (34)Jess says

Hi Nancy! Glad that this recipe peaked your interest. I have not tried powdered buttermilk in this recipe before, but I would be apt to say that the "real deal" would make for a smoother dough and a more fluffy and moist biscuit.
